I have the feeling that most users have a hard time even figuring out what question to ask. I spent some time with various search text until I finally found this forum topic which seemed to described the problem - but DTV seems to be calling it an "autotune" issue. ( see response below)
Anyway I took you guys advice and sent my concern to DTV and was surprised that someone responded within 30 minutes. I do have to say to every one that has experienced customer service issues, my experience has been 100% positive and I have always found customer service to be polite, understanding and willing to help.
I have reservations that this will be corrected in the near future but at least DTV implied my concern will be passed to upper management. If every one would do this then problems may get resolved.

I just switched from HR21-200's to a Genie wireless system two weeks ago and immediately noticed the same problem. I normally leave my TV set to channel 4 so I can watch the 6 PM news. Now I can't turn on the 6 pm news at 6:15 and just go back to 6. This is very aggravating. I have been trying to remember to turn on the news before 6pm and just pushing the pause button which does work except I often forget to do this. I guess I could record the news but I really don't want to.
I feel that this is something that DTV should at least address and see if they can come up with a fix. How hard could it be to slave one of the available tuners to the last channel watched and return to that tuner when the genie is powered on? I hope someone at DTV monitors these issues and actually follows up.
I can't say I feel that I moved very far forward with the Genie system when it removes what I considered a valuable function. DTV are you listening?
