Re: Question about how the resume feature works

I've been leaving and returning to previously recorded programs on older HR-20's for years.  We still have one of those HR-20's in addition to the HR-34 Genie and one Genie Mini.

I leave recorded programs sometimes by pausing but at other times by just calling up another live channel, meaning I don't pause before leaving.  On the HR-20's and even sometimes (still trying to figure out the sometimes part) on the HR-34, either method allows me to use the "prev" button to later come right back to the exact place I left on the previously recorded program.

I've also discovered that when this "problem" is occurring on the HR-34, it also happens if I (instead of using the "prev" button) go into my program's list, find that program, and click RESUME.  Even that fails and starts from the beginning instead of starting from the place I left off.

And tonight I am learning that even that isn't quite the total story.  Tonight I am going to and away from an NBA game I am recording and watching delayed.  What I'm finding is when I use "prev" or RESUME to go back into the previously recorded partial game (game not done yet), it doesn't start over from the beginning but nor is it starting from the place where I last left it.  Instead, it's starting from some other point that I recall as one place I saw when I was doing one of my tests this evening.  Meaning, there is some seemingly broken way the HR-34 is choosing to MARK where it last left off.  Sometimes it chooses the correct place, sometimes the beginning of the entire recording, sometimes some other place where I once returned to but now should be overwritten.  It's just messed up.

more thoughts???  I appreciate the help.
