Re: on-demand sound cuts out

I am a tech guy, I have the genie and have the same problem. Pausing multiple times does work. This tells me it's a DVR video/audio memory issue. By pausing you give the cache memory a chance to catch up. It's like not having enough RAM, when the audio cuts out, that's the system clearing the cache to make room for incoming data. I've seen this many times with PCs, especially with gamers, games are so tremendous when it comes to video data you have to have a video card with a large amount of memory or you will have "jumpy" video. Your DVR has a video/audio processor and memory. Understand I'm talking about random access memory, not harddisk or storage space. To my knowledge there is no way to increase video/audio memory in a DVR. Eventually the data stream will probably be optimized so it's smaller or the DVRs will get more memory.

In the mean time you can pause for 3-5 seconds about 4-8 times and the rest of your program should be okay. That's what worked for me multiple times.
