my zip code is 52601. Tonight I got an email reply from someone at Channel 6 where our service comes out of in Iowa. Thought everyone would like to hear and read this: the thing is that we tried the reset as he suggested and it still isn't showing channel 6 on our program guide and we still can't click on it.
I'm starting to wonder if we have a bad receiver???
Here's what he wrote back to me..........
This week many viewers have endured the same frustration receiving Channel 6 via DirecTV that you are experiencing, but fortunately there is a fix for the issue. I was told by the DirecTV network operations center that it was caused by some sort of DirecTV network software glitch. I can’t explain why DirecTV customer support will not assist viewers by providing the solution, but it was arrived at with the help of a Galesburg viewer earlier this week. He had two receivers but only one was experiencing the issue. The solution is below and takes five to ten minutes to complete. Please let me know your outcome. I called the DirecTV Network Operations Center and spoke to David McCarty about that we’ve appeared to isolate the issue down to a particular model DirecTV receiver. He asked me to call the viewer back and ask them to reset the receiver. I just got off the phone with the viewer and we were able to successfully restore the KWQC signal on the receiver by resetting the receiver using the red reset button.
