Follow up - After several months of frustration with my HR44-500 Receiver picture freezing every day, I spoke with customer service again and got a technician to come out to the house. When the tech guy reviewed my set up, he immediately noticed that my Wireless Bridge/router was way too close to my HR44-500 Receiver. (Who knew? - Online instruction showed that the 'bridge' needed to be at least 8 feet from the receiver). The original installer put it only 6 inches away from the receiver. Just to be safe, the tech guy switched out the HR44-500 for a new HR44-700 model. Whether moving the video bridge or installing a new receiver, my system is now working as intended and so far no picture freezing. Thanks DIRECTV.
