771 error, I have the exact same issue as Wendy2407. My dish is on the roof, never knew that they put them any where else when we got ours.We have had cable issue in the past but my husband does not think that is the issue this time. He is sure it most likely is snow. Storm has been over for two days, we had connection until yesterday afternoon. I posted on facebook how upset I was with the customer service as we were told we could not get a tech here for a full week. Yes, we have purchased the protection plan! As I see it, Direct TV is responsible for providing me with service, it really is that simple. I am at home after a complicated neck surgery and I cannot even watch what I have recorded.If they cannot send out someone on to get on the roof to see if it is the snow then send someone out to install a dish where we can access it for future issues and hook up to that.
