I have a NETGEAR Router DGND3300. It is connected via ADSL. WPS is not utilized due to encryption issues with VPN clients I use for work (double encryption which impacts my throughput). Security is provided via ACL (Access Control List). I have placed the MAC address of the Genie into the router. Double checked it to make sure that it is correct (it is). I have performed a manual connection. The Genie see's the network (its named Cambridge),Other devices connect to the router with no issues via the ACL, but the Genie gets an error 86-828 when attempting to connect.
The Genie has a default IP address defined of 169.254.8.142, which is telling me that the DHCP handshake is not taking place or is having errors. There are no firewalls, security is turned off at the router. What else does the Genie need to know to be able to make the connection?
Any guidance is greatly appreciated.
