I just got the GenieGO hardware and hooked it up. The DirectTV app for the iPad kept saying "No connected receivers found". I talked to DirecTV support. After lots of trying all kinds of things, we finally ended up downloading the GenieGO iPhone app. That was finally able to connect to my HD24/500 DVR. I was able to down load recorded video. The problem is that I can only view them in iPhone format on my iPad.
I have a modem from the cable company with a wireless router/firewall behind it. The DirecTV Deca box is connected to the modem and that is where I connected the GenieGo. We tried connecting to the wireless router, but nothing worked then.
