Looking for a solution to speed up me Genie receiver. Have had it for close to a year now and it is progressively getting slower. One example: I push the guide button and it takes sometime up to 30 seconds to bring up the guide screen. Or it does the same if I push 'info' button. Bringing up the on-demand list of movies to purchase is real slow - just now it took 4 minutes for a list to show up which is what prompted this posting. Used to be pretty quick - a few seconds. I don't have many shows stored on it, says 73% storage space is still available. On the older HD DVR receivers there was a sequence of the colored buttons you could push to clear the RAM when that happened. it would help the issue for a couple days then it would slow down again. I have tried unplugging it several times and it only helps for a little while. Sometimes when I rewind or FF it will not let me stop it for 10 - 15 seconds. I can see the light flash on the receiver so i know it is receiving the remote command. Have been a long time customer and this seems to have been an issue with all the receivers I have had - after owning for several months to a year they get really slow and hang up. Phone tech support hasn't helped, any ideas are welcome.
