Re: Loss of sound HR44/700

Thank you.  My sentiments exactly.  I installed my first system almost 13 years ago when multiple techs said I couldn't get a signal and just got in their trucks and drove off without even trying.  I've done virtually all of the maintenance and troubleshooting since then.  In this case, the only variable that has changed is the Genie.  The online techs have questioned dish misalignment and a whole host of other things that make no sense.  I don't think signal issues have anything to do with a frozen picture.  I do think that if I had signal issues, I wouldn't have crystal clear video.  One tech suggested that I go to WM and buy a gold tipped HDMI for less than $5.  He said that anything I bought at WM would be better than what they send with the equipment.  I thought that a bit odd.  I have a collection of HDMI, component and RCA cables.  I've used several during this ordeal.  I've reversed them.  I've changed input ports.  I've reset the receiver.  And they still want to say they need to send a tech out.  The latest was that they escalated a report directly from my Genie and said the IT folks would repair it by sending a software patch.  They said I should have it by the end of next week.  That's special.
