Every couple of months, my DirecTV goes out. Every couple of months, I call DirectTV to be told the ‘we’ll be there between 8 and 12’ spiel. A couple of years ago, I actually let one of those repair people look at the cable to tell me nothing is wrong. And nothing is wrong other than the fact that I pay for something I can’t see nor am I entertained by. So every couple of months, I call & make the appt. In a day or so, the cable will come back on. By this time, I know how to turn off the power, reset the cable, run a service test, check the wires. I do all of this before I call DirectTV even though it worked perfectly fine before the movie & no matter how many times I tell the incompetent person on the other end of the receiver that I’ve done this, I am told to do it again.
This time around, I watch a movie on Netflix knowing what the outcome would be (not the movie, the cable). As soon as the movie is over, I go back to regular cable & sure as ****, the cable is out. No biggie. I call DirecTV, tell the incompetent person on the other end of the receiver that I have already done all of the above even though she tells me I have to do all of the above all over again & make an appointment for Tuesday 8 - 12. She tells me not to cancel the appointment. I tell her there is no way in **** I’d cancel the appointment because if I’m forced to pay for service I am not getting, then some jackass from DirecTV can come out to my house & waste his/her time. Because that’s the way I roll & I hung up on her.
