Update: FYI... I went into settings and observed my selected TV resolutions. Native was selected and so were all types except for the lower 480p resolution. I selected that resolution and after resetting the receiver the 'lights flashing' stopped. Its been 4 days now with no reoccurrence. Only draw back is that the non-HD channels are displayed rather small.
