Re: Won't schedule service because there is snow on the ground

The dish is on a pole about 5 feet off the ground, and is clear.  We had the same issue last winter, and it was caused by the coax shrinking and being too short inside where it plugged into the dish.  The tech re-did the end and it was fine.  This happened on the coldest day last winter.  We had a similar problem last summer, and the tech switched the wire coming in from outside.  He probably cut it a bit short, and it shrunk agian.  It has been cold here this winter, but it has worked fine until today and it is not quite as cold (20 degrees as opposed to -9 last year).

My frustration is the asinine help desk responses I got from both Mississippi and Oregon help desks.  The first was they couldn't schedule anyone until the snow stops, and the second one said no scheduling until the snow all melts.  This is Michigan.  We have snow.  I finally got to a supervisor, and now have somebody scheduled to come out Thursday.  They will walk out there, put a new connector on, and we will be fine again for a while.
