Glad to hear that deleting and reinstalling the app fixed the problem. There have actually been several prior instances where the app required removal and reinstallation to begin working properly.

jlstx,
do you mind me asking what version software is showing now on your HR22? Is it something different than the 0X8ca version? thanks
Remote compatibility with Genie in RF mode
I am trying to get my RC64R remote control to work with my Genie mini C41-100 receiver. I have followed the on-screen instructions to no avail. I gather from this form that the RF systems on the two are not compatible, but I would love for someone to confirm or deny that. If they are not compatible, what is my quickest, simplest option - buy a compatible Genie remote?
Thanks in advance for all assistance.
Ken Traynham
Re: Remote compatibility with Genie in RF mode
That remote won't work in RF mode with the HR44 Genie DVR or C41 Genie Clients. You need an RC71/72 remote model.
Re: List of the three digit code after sys test diagnostics, eg 43-xxx?
Because more accurate diagnosis over the phone leads to faster resolution. If the people who help us troubleshoot our equipment (tech support) had a better knowledge base it would save time and money. If the folks who repair and service our equipment had accurate information before arriving it would save them time and money, and if enthusiasts like myself could get accurate information we wouldn't need to call so much. If DTV saves time and money they can use those resources to streamline their process and fix the problems they have with quality of equipment and service instead of applying constant bandaids. It wouldn't cost a penny and everyone benefits. That's just good business right?
R16-500 Receiver with Error Code Searching Signal 771
Pictures of error codes and test results here: DirecTV - Imgur
This is at my parents house. It's been this way for MONTHS and they haven't called to get it fixed yet... The only reason I don't call myself is because I'm not the account holder and therefore don't have the account number and details.
It has SOME channels that work fine, other channels give this error code and refuse to load. Have tried resetting the receiver multiple times and various ways, have checked the cables inside and out.
What is the deal with this thing?!
Genie freezes/locks up
new genie freezes/locks up more times than I care to deal with. doesn't record when this happens weather live or programed to redord. now the clients get lost/not connected. Forced software download numerous times still no luck. Got into hard drive test of sorts both short and long smart test. up to 373 errors on disk. corrected but still have problems. As of now "ZERO" help via the "email" response system on DirecTV site. Have the HR44/700 W/ software 0x929, Mon 10/20, 3:33a. just started to run system test at the time of this post. diagnostic code:72-243
Re: hr24-500 won't connect to internet
Sorry to hear you're having trouble. I suggest first reset modem, then router. While thats going plug in Ethernet cable from router to hr24, red button reset. Restore defaults, repeat network setup WPS if possible. If that doesn't get it temporarily disable firewall, make sure no Mac address filtering, dynamic instead of static IP and DNS, all default policies on network, turn off all other internet connected equipment. Once you get connected start adding your setup back one setting/device/policy at a time until you find root cause. Luck to you, please post results, thanks
Re: Genie freezes/locks up
Sorry to hear you're having trouble. If your receiver continues to show errors even if it repairs them eventually, call 800 531-5000, hit 0 to get to operator and ask for tech support. If its w/in 90 days of install service or replacement is free, otherwise $7.99 for Protection Plan (first mo. free) gets you free SVC calls and upgrades every 2yrs, or a straight $49.95 for a SVC call. Luck to you, please post results, thanks
Re: Genie freezes/locks up
It is a waste of time forcing software downloads as you are just getting the same version you already have in the best cases and in the worst case you will download beta testing software that can cause even more problems.
Errors on the hard drive is usually the first sign of a hard drive failure and with the freezing it is best to replace the Genie call DTV $20 shipping or $50 for a tech both free within 90 days of install or if you have the protection plan.
Re: "on demand" issues
TCR had his Internet provider refresh his connections, and it worked... have you tried that?
Re: WCIV-Local Charleston SC program guide incorrect
you should try a repeat of the satellite setup and see if that helps, you can do this in the menu-> Settings and help -> Settings -> Satellite -> Repeat satellite setup.
This will force the system to reload the guide data, and if its been resolved, you should see a difference.
Re: R16-500 Receiver with Error Code Searching Signal 771
You dont even need account specifics other than the phone number to call and set up a resolution, go ahead and call for a technician if you cant fix it.
Re: Do I really need an installer to switch out a HR22-100 to a HR44?
How did returning it go?
Re: "on demand" issues
If I had any idea how to get through to Centurylink and request a reset, I would.

DIRECTV HR34/700 wireless issue
I am trying to determine if the wireless NIC is bad or not on model HR34/700 whole home. I have a reserved or static IP via my Netgear R7000 router installed 6 months ago. Updated data plan to 25 MBPS with Centurelink about 2 weeks. Receiver says it sees my network but gets various errors depending on where you are in the Network setup routine. Ex. Unable to start Network Services 818, Error info code 86-299 & Directv Diagnostic Code 71-73-62.
I have researched some of this errors/codes and a lot of answers point to some sort of external or wired connection device the Directv offers because the wireless is unreliable. I agree that wired connection is better but running cable from router is problematic presently.
Wireless has worked well in the past with very few issues. However wireless on receiver has not worked in about a month. With previous issue "resetting" receiver usually fixed the issue, not any more though. I cannot recall if there was an event to correlate with present issue. Sort of just seemed to stop.
Suggestions or tips would ge grand. Appreciate your help.
Regards,
Kevin
Re: DIRECTV HR34/700 wireless issue
How exactly are you connecting the HR34 to your wireless network? It doesn't have a built-in WiFi adapter, so are you using a Wireless Cinema Connection Kit? Or something else?
Re: DIRECTV HR34/700 wireless issue
Hmmm, well i am not sure then. I thought it was internal. Would this be a device in the receiver area? More than likely around my router. Let poke around on the floor again. Perhaps I am "not seeing the trees because of the forest". Lots of wires LOL
Re: HDDVR extremely slow response
Yes, don't know if it is my imagination or not; but since I've been doing the CLEARMYBOX reset, essentially on a daily basis now for at least a month or more, it seems as though the restored degree of responsiveness lasts for shorter and shorter periods of time. I think I had last posted that it was lasting about 12 to 24 hours on my machine. Well, since college football started at 11:00 am locally yesterday, I did a reset late morning or mid-day; but by last night (or actually early evening) the responsiveness was pretty much gone so I had to do a second reset to be able to finish watching any of the night games. At that point I called DirecTV about the issue, yet again. I asked this tech specialist if the 0x8ca software downloaded earlier this month was supposed to be the fix for the HR22. She replied without hesitation that 'NO - it was not the fix for the HR22'. I told her that in a way that was good news because if it was suppose to be the fix, they either needed to send me a replacement receiver or terminate my account because that particular software did not help my receiver at all. Other than being able to confirm what I had seen in some of the posts in this forum about the 0x8ca software not being the intended fix for the HR22, essentially the only other thing she told me was that their engineers are still working on the problems for the HR22, and she could not provide any kind of schedule or timeline (to paraphrase). My conversation with her did not leave me with any confidence that a pending solution is near.
